Testimonials
"You have a great way of reminding people that math is something to be liked in the process of doing it, not only when it is finished and elegant, and the answer is circled."

"I'm thankful you helped me draw a distinction between the feeling of being hopelessly bad at math and the feeling of being uncomfortable because I'm learning something new."

"Dana is a great TA who really cares about her students. (Dana) is genuinely curious about math and is great at offering that same curiosity to [their] students."

"Dana asks helpful guiding questions and provides nice positive reinforcement. The worksheets used were well-designed with a focus on concepts and definitions along with some computational practice. Dana manages group work well and recognizes when a full class conversation would be helpful and then uses clear, well-organized board work, clear explanations, and effective wait-time during these mini-lectures."

"Dana continued to do an excellent job as a Merit TA this semester. They developed a very welcoming and interactive atmosphere despite the online format. The students seemed very comfortable with each other and with Dana. Dana showed great patience and asked really effective guiding questions followed by ample wait time for students to really think about a response. They modeled the problem solving and thought process really well, and did a great job of both providing positive reinforcement while also pointing out times students could be more efficient with their work. They also did a great job really checking for understanding by all before moving on to work with another group."

Dana was the best math instructor I've had since high school. They're super fun and energetic. ALWAYS excited to talk about math. It was hard for me transitioning back to calculus after 5 years and I don't think I could have passed (or been passing) without them.

Dana's strength was their dedication and eagerness to help students understand the concepts. They held office hours on weekends to help students outside of the "classroom." They excelled their role as a TA and effectively taught their merit cohort.

Dana was most likely the best TA I have had the privilege of working with this semester. They were fair and had a very open-door policy for questions or concerns regarding the course, and they were always willing to offer a listening ear if you happened to have any other concerns as well. While Calc 1 itself certainly wasn't my strongpoint this semester (far from it) Dana was exceptional.
